I'm a professor, speaker, and author working at the intersection of AI, social media, branding, and happiness. At the heart of all of it: human connection.
For over twenty years, I've stood in front of audiences across industries, generations, and continents. Different rooms. Different worlds. Same hunger to stay human in a world that keeps changing.

How do humans stay connected and purposeful in a fast-changing world?
The noise got louder. We got quieter with each other. Our purpose disappeared in the scroll.
My work is about helping us find our way back. To protect what makes us human. The spark that brings us happiness and makes the world better.
Whether I am watching streamers fall, or sitting with people ready to thrive, my mission is the same. To remind us we need each other.
This became Keep Shining. A framework. A book. A way back.

Teaching & Speaking
I don't just teach marketing. I teach connection.
My home base is Florida International University, where I teach branding, digital media, and human-centric AI at the College of Business. Counselor by training. Professor by practice. Pattern-seeker by instinct.
My work reaches beyond the classroom. I help organizations and teams move through AI and digital transformation without losing what matters most. Each other.
I've spoken with counselors, teachers, and healthcare leaders carrying impossible weeks. With lawyers, business leaders, and boardrooms trying to hold their people through change.
They leave feeling a little lighter, inspired, and ready to move.
I serve on the Board of the World Happiness Foundation.

Outside, usually with my favorite humans & one very good dog.
When I'm not teaching or on stage, you'll find me outside with my daughter and our dog Lucky.

Dr. Nancy Richmond is a keynote speaker, author, and Associate Teaching Professor of Marketing at Florida International University. What is Dr. Nancy Richmond's background?
Dr. Nancy Richmond holds a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University and a Master of Education in Counseling from Boston University. She began as a career counselor, including as Assistant Director of Career Counseling at MIT, then taught graduate social media courses at Northeastern before joining Florida International University in 2014. Reinvention and transitions are her specialty, and she still thinks like a counselor.

At Florida International University's College of Business, Dr. Nancy Richmond teaches branding, social media marketing, digital marketing, AI marketing, and Marketing Yourself in the Global Marketplace. Her students learn by doing: more than 800 student teams have created over 200 videos for nonprofits and community causes.
Why is Dr. Nancy Richmond an expert on social media and AI?
Dr. Nancy Richmond was one of the first professors in the country to teach social media marketing. At Northeastern University, she built a graduate social media concentration that grew from 100 to 300 students in one year. At FIU, she developed a new AI Marketing course, launched in 2026, and co-chairs the College of Business AI Teaching Forum.
